PTA Purpose & Goals

The Irma Lerma Rangel YWLS PTA is a self-governing unit of parents, staff and volunteers that plans its programs and activities to meet the needs of Students, Parents, Teachers, and the community. Each PTA unit has its own characteristics, but its underlying purpose of promoting the welfare of children and youth unites all PTA’s and gives continuity and nationwide significance to their work.

The Rangel PTA plays an essential role in ensuring that all of our students have access to an excellent education. Through its focus on academic achievement, a strong sense of community, parent involvement, parent education and financial support for classroom materials, field trips, assemblies, art and music programming, etc., the PTA enriches our school and enables our students to meet their academic potential.

What makes the Rangel PTA Great? YOU DO! The Rangel PTA is the cornerstone of an inclusive community where every member is appreciated and valued. Each individual brings his or her own uniqueness to The Irma L. Rangel YWLS, which brings a new dimension to the Rangel PTA. By joining the Rangel PTA, you'll help raise money that makes a difference at our children’s school. It’s fun and rewarding for you and your kids and a great way to meet other families.
